Richard Madgwick is Reader in Archaeological Science at Cardiff University. Richard is an osteoarchaeologist who uses macroscopic, microscopic and molecular methods in the analysis of animal and human remains. Reconstructing mobility in animals and humans using multi-isotope analysis is a major focus of his research, as are themes of provisioning, feasting and taphonomy. Peter Guest is an experienced field archaeologist and finds specialist whose areas of expertise include the archaeology of Britannia and the north-western provinces, the Roman army and frontiers, as well as Roman coinage and the economy. Hongjiao Ma is an archaeomaterials scientist who uses scientific techniques to explore the transfer of technology, knowledge and movement of human and animals in past societies using strontium isotope analysis. His previous work focused on glass and ceramics from various sources along the ancient Silk Road and Europe. Leïa Mion is a researcher who focuses on diet and food resource production during Antiquity and the early Middle Ages, mainly in the Mediterranean area. Leïa specialises in the study of human and animal remains through multi-isotope analysis (carbon, nitrogen and sulfur stable isotopes). Leah Reynolds is a post-doctoral research associate at Cardiff University. Her research interests lie in the settlements and material culture of Roman Britain, and the impact of the Roman occupation. She is currently working on the AHRC-funded project Roman Britannia: Mobility and Society.
