Samuel L. Horst is a Professor Emeritus of History at Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He is also the author of Mennonites in the Confederacy: A Study in Civil War Pacifism, and co-author of Mennonites and Other Peace Churches in America, 1939-1989.
