Burt Berlowe is an award-winning author, journalist and oral historian who specializes in writing and publishing the stories of ordinary people involved in social change. He has a BA in Journalism from the University of Arizona, and has worked as a reporter and editor for numerous city newspapers, in addition to contributing to many local and national print and online publications. He has authored and contributed to nine books, including the two-volume Compassionate Rebel series that has won prestigious national and regional awards, and, most recently, a collection of turning-point stories and a people's history of his own neighbourhood, Seward. He is a peace educator and activist and community organizer in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and an avid researcher of historical social change movements.Rebecca Janke is the Education Director of PeaceEducationBookshop.com, an organization that specializes in PreK Adult peace education. She has served as President of the Montessori Alliance of Peacemakers and is an active consultant for parents, educators, administrators, and community leaders.
