Gordon L Rottman entered the US Army in 1967, volunteered for Special Forces and completed training as a weapons specialist. He was assigned to the 7th Special Forces Group until reassigned to the 5th Special Forces Group in Vietnam in 1969–70. He was a Special Operations Forces Intelligence Specialist at the Army's Joint Readiness Center for 12 years, and is now a freelance writer, living in Texas.Steve Noon was born in Kent, UK, and attended art college in Cornwall. He has had a life-long passion for illustration and since 1985 has worked as a professional artist. As well as illustrating numerous Osprey titles, Steve has provided award-winning illustrations for renowned publishers Dorling Kindersley, where his interest in historical illustration began.
