This book is not about your wife but about you and how you can be victorious in your walk with the Lord and in your marriage, despite conflicts and circumstances you find distressing and/or hurtful.

Within this spiritual growth book, each message begins with something your spouse does or doesn't do. The more of these 52 irksome instances you encounter, the more occasion you have for spiritual growth. The intent of each weekly message is not to criticize or accuse your spouse, but to provide a way for you to persevere and grow in Christ and in the marriage, despite your wife's choices.

The scriptures given for each situation are not exclusive but rather interchangeable with other circumstances. So if one week's issue doesn't apply to you, claim the verse to help you thrive in Christ, regardless.

As well, this book is not about how to have a perfect marriage but rather how to act as a man of God within an imperfect marriage. We all have our faults. As you move through each message, ask yourself, "Am I guilty of this?" Ask God to shine a light upon your behaviors and thoughts. Herein is more room for growth.

As a marriage and individual counselor for many years-having the opportunity to work with those from various ages, backgrounds, cultures, and faiths-the author encountered the issues you will read in the 52 weeks of verses. These matters are best addressed between partners who are devoted to Christ. Even then, although both are saved, not everyone responds to making changes in a godly way. It is up to you to respond in the way God leads as you entrust your wife to Him, for only He can change any of us.

These pages speak of some behaviors which are sin. However, the majority of these spousal behaviors fall into a category of irksome, or under behaviors that are less than honoring to the marriage relationship.
