The transition from this physical world to the eternal afterlife is often questioned. Caregivers and loved ones ask themselves "Am I making the right decision?", "What would I have done?", "Is this what my husband wanted?", "Why do I feel alone in this fight", "Why doesn't anyone understand that I am still grieving"? Going through a terminal or curable illness leaves all involved feeling angry, sad, discouraged, and helplessly worn out at one point or another.

This book of prayers reflects the author's own prayers which she often wrote down throughout her dad's brain cancer battle and passing, her mother's throat cancer, and her maternal grandparents passing within one year of each other during the 2020 global pandemic. This prayer book's purpose is to encourage those going through similar situations pray when they do not have the words to say. To stand on something when there is nothing left to do or give. To give a voice when you just don't know what to do.

The journey through an illness is one very few, yet many can empathize with. Prayer for most is a comfort, even to those who have never prayed a day in their life, suddenly feel the need to pray or feel a positive force over their life in those moments of uncertainty. Prayer for this author was and is a necessity for understanding and accepting the circumstances of the experience.
