Prof emeritus Zainul Huda, PhD, is among the World's Top 23 Scholars in the field of Materials and Manufacturing (see www.scholar.google.com). He is the author of over 100 publications, including 10 books and 65 Web of Science (WoS) articles published by reputed publishers from the USA, the UK, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, UAE, Pakistan, Malaysia, and South Korea. With 1550+ citations, his h-index is 18 (i-10 index: 31). He possesses 42-year academic experience (17-year standing as a full Professor) at reputed/world-ranking universities (e.g. University of Malaya, Malaysia, King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, KSA). Prof. em. Dr. Z. Huda has delivered guest lecturers on manufacturing/materials engineering in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan. His teaching and research interests include manufacturing technology, welding and fabrication, metallurgy, materials characterization, aerospace materials, and microstructural control for performance and energy-efficiency improvements. He has attracted nine (9) research grants with a worth total of US$ 0.16 million. He has supervised to completion several PhD and Master theses. Prof. em. Huda earned PhD in Materials Engineering/Tech from Brunel University, London, UK. He is also a postgraduate in Manufacturing Engineering. He obtained BS (Metallurgical Engineering) from the University of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan. He is a Professional Engineer (PE) registered under Pakistan Engineering Council. He has satisfactorily completed 17 industrial consultancy projects. He is the developer of Toyota Corolla car’s axle-hub’s heat treatment process, first ever implemented in Pakistan. He is a recipient of Appreciation Certificate conferred t him by the Vice Chancellor of University of Malaya, Malaysia, for an innovation/invention in engineering design. He is also the receipt of UK-Singapore Science Collaboration Award, awarded to him by British High Commission, Singapore (in 2006).
