Dafydd Prys Evans was born in Llangadog, Carmarthenshire. He studied medicine in London and law at Aberystwyth University before going on to found the first Welsh rock band, Y Blew, in 1967, in which he played bass guitar. He later worked as a solicitor in Rhydaman for 30 years and has published a personal diary chronicling the 1960s. He has three children and now lives in Bethlehem, near Llandeilo.
