Truth Salad

 

Medical science is one of the very few professions where the client (patient in this context) needs to come clean about their lives and share their deepest secrets with doctors. Given the nature of the profession, doctors continue to probe not just the physical aspects but also extend into the lifestyle of the patient and arrive at a final diagnosis.

In the process, an observant doctor becomes recipient to insights on the emotions and characters of the patient and the people in the patient’s life; these insights come in their truest form: raw, authentic and unprocessed.

Truth Salad is a compilation of several such interesting insights gathered from incidents that depict a variety of emotions and the inner characters of people.

Just like in a fruit salad, where there are sweet, sour and tangy fruits that have distinct tastes separately yet taste delicious when they come together, you can feel different tastes in Truth Salad. It is served to you fresh and as-is, except for some occasional garnishing to make it yummier. While some incidents will bring a smile on your face, others will make you feel sad.

Each and every incident described is true; thus, the name, Truth Salad.

Most of the incidents described are from the author’s personal experiences as a medical professional. The places of the incidents are not identified and names have been changed to maintain confidentiality.
