Dr Steven Berryman has worked in education for over 20 years, and is currently a senior leader. Steven has worked in both the independent and state sectors, including holding roles in MAT central teams most notably leading the arts across families of schools. Steven started his career as a music teacher, and has been a head of department and a Chief Examiner. His particular specialism is composition, completing a PhD at Cardiff University and continuing to work with a number of organisations to create engaging materials for schools.Between 2022-2024 Steven was the President of the Chartered College of Teaching, and has contributed widely to music education including being part of the National Plan for Music Education expert panel. In higher education, Steven has been a Visiting Research Fellow and Lecturer at Buckingham University, the Royal College of Music and King's College London.
