Maria Bulakh, Ph.D. (2005), RSUH, is an assistant professor of Ethiopian and Semitic studies at HSE University. She has published extensively on Ethiopian and MSA linguistics, notably, The T-Stems in Soqotri. A Contribution to Semitic Detransitivising Derivation (Brill, 2024). She is a field researcher on Soqotra since 2017.Leonid Kogan, Ph.D. (2001), RSUH, Habil. (2020), HSE University, is head of the Near Eastern department at this university. His books and articles deal with a wide scope of linguistic and philological topics in the Semitic domain, including early Akkadian, Ethiopian, and MSA. Co-editor of the Corpus of Soqotri Oral Literature (Brill, 2014 and 2018). He is a field researcher on Soqotra since 2010.
