Nutrition is a large and vital part of all medical sciences. Nutrition is an integral component of oral health. The relationship between nutrition and oral health is multifaceted. Nutrition has both local and systemic impacts on the oral cavity. Just as oral diseases can affect diet and nutrition, diet and nutrition, in turn, may affect the development and progression of diseases of the oral cavity. The oral cavity is often one of the first sites where nutrient deficiencies can be clinically noted. This book reviews the role of nutrition in oral health and diseases.
