Pregnancy is a period of drastic physiological change which places extreme stress on various systems of the body. Anemia in pregnancy has a multi-factorial etiology and has been found to be associated with a higher risk of prolonged labor, abnormal delivery and low birth weight. Those who didn't take iron supplement during pregnancy were 9.85 times more likely to anemic compared to taking iron supplement [AOR (95%CI) = 9.85(3.79, 25.61)]. Those who were not de-wormed were 0.65 times less likely to anemic compared to de- wormed [AOR (95%CI) = 0.65(0.01, 0.33)]. Those who visited two times antenatal care were10.37 times more likely to anemic compared to visiting one time[AOR (95%CI) = 10.37(2.65,40.62)]. Those who had 9-12 grade educational level were 5.97 times more likely anemic compared to primary or less education [AOR (95%CI) = 5.97(1.96,18.22)]. Based on the data presented in this study, we believed that anemia is a major health issue for pregnant women in this study area.Educational level , monthly income , iron supplement , dew arming, medical history and number of antenatal care visits seem to be strong predictors of anemia among pregnant women
