Prof. Wenxin Wang is a Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Principle Investigator at the Charles Institute of Dermatology, University College Dublin. Having obtained his B.S. degree from Sichuan University in 1990, M.S. and Ph.D degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1996 and 1999 respectively, he received the TERMIS-EU SFI Young Scientist Prize in Regenerative Medicine in 2010 and DEBRA Ireland Patient Service Award in 2014. His research interests focus on the development of multifunctional polymeric biomaterials for gene therapy and stem cell therapy in the treatment of skin wounds. Dr. Yongsheng Gao is the Postdoctoral Research fellow in Prof. Samir Mitragotri's group at Harvard University, USA. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2011 and 2013, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in 2017 from University College Dublin. His research focuses on biomedical applications of novel structured multifunctional polymers. Prof. Dezhong Zhou is the professor at School of Chemistry Engineering and Technology, Xi'an Jiao Tong University, China. He received his B.S. degree from Hunan University, China in 2007, and his Ph.D. degree in 2012 from Nankai University. His main research focuses are the development of a series of multifunctional hyperbranched biomaterials and their applications in various biomedical fields. Jing Lyu is currently a PhD student at University College Dublin, Ireland under the supervision of Prof. Wenxin Wang. She received her B.S. degree in Material Science and Engineering from North China Institute of Science and Technology in 2015, and her M.S. degree in Tianjin University in 2018, China. Her research mainly focuses on the simulation of radical polymerization of multivinyl monomers and their properties.Dr. Ben Newland is the lecturer in School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cardiff University. He received his BSc degree in Natural Sciences from Durham University in 2005 and his M.S. degree from Imperial College London in 2008. In 2013 he completed his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Abhay Pandit and Prof. Wenxin Wang at the National University of Ireland, Galway, then secured a Sir Henry Dale postdoctoral fellowship from the Wellcome Trust. He is currently based between the Brain Repair Group at Cardiff University and the Leibniz-Institute for Polymer Research in Dresden, where he designs polymeric materials for therapeutic applications in neurodegenerative diseases.
