Vechoor and Chembanaruvi Cows are the two endemic cows varieties of Kerala. Among these cows, Vechoor cow (Bos Taurus indicus) is the world's smallest cattle breed. The cattle originated in the land are dwarf cattle and generally referred to as the local cattle or non-descript cattle of Kerala. Chembanaruvi cows are small faint white-colored cows. These cows have some similarities in comparison with other traditional cattle verities of Kerala. The remarkable feature of this cattle population is that are exclusively confined with the westernghat forest area of southern Kerala. The present investigation reveals that there is a significant differences in the milk metabolite analysis among the indigenous with crossbreed Jersey. The Chembanaruvi indigenous cows are unknown for their characteristics in past, also from the present study, we can see that similarities in milk characteristics between Vechoor and Chembanaruvi cows.
