In sum, Memoir Ethics is an innovative, fascinating work, in which Professor Martin explores paramount moral themes such as goodness, authenticity, meaning, health, and self-fulfillment with an interdisciplinary vision. He uses appealing stories of fervent living as the backdrop for understanding the human condition. My summary does not do justice to the glowing richness of this book, which merits and rewards a close study. Readers who do not gain new insights into the structure and meaning of their lives have simply not paid attention.
