Ruth Cade graduated from the Royal College of Physicians and obtained a specialty certificate examination in respiratory medicine in 2021. She started her speciality training at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in which she is now a consultant in respiratory and general medicine. Throughout her career she has taken part in both informal and more formal teaching for medical students and junior doctors. These include bedside clinical teaching and classroom-based teaching sessions on various topics relating to respiratory medicine. She has also contributed as part of the NW Collaborative Organisation for Respiratory Research.Ryan Robinson graduated from the University of Liverpool and following a brief spell working abroad. He started Specialty training in Respiratory and General internal Medicine in the North-West region and completed his PhD at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, focusing on human respiratory challenge models, respiratory vaccine development and respiratory infection diagnostics for which he was awarded a regional and international award. His passions are the development of affordable, effective respiratory infection vaccines, novel infection diagnostics with a direct application to clinical practice, and medical education.
