Chile Solidarity in Britain

Tanya Harmer is Associate Professor of International History at London School of Economics, UK. A specialist on the Cold War in Latin America with a particular interest in the international, transnational and global dynamics of the struggle, she is the author of Allende’s Chile and the Inter-American Cold War (2011) and Beatriz Allende: A Revolutionary Life in Cold War Latin America (2020).Grace Livingstone is an affiliated lecturer at the Centre of Latin American Studies, University of Cambridge, UK. She is the author of several books including Britain and the Dictatorships of Argentina and Chile 1973-82 (2018) and America’s Backyard: The United States and Latin America from the Monroe Doctrine to the War on Terror (2003). She reports regularly from Latin America for the BBC World Service, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Online and has also reported for The Guardian, The Observer and The Independent.
