Windmill Hill

To the Sussex villagers, Astrid and Mrs Baker are just a couple of batty old ladies living - with far too many dachshunds - up at the windmill. Mrs Baker, pragmatic and no-nonsense, came to clean Astrid's windmill over twenty years ago and never left, but now her troubled past is catching up with her. Astrid - scatty, optimistic and impractical - is also doing her utmost never to look back.

In the 1970s, she was married to a charismatic Scot, Magnus Fellowes, but one scandalous night at a Tudor Hunting Lodge tore them apart; Magnus went on to become a famous Hollywood star and National Treasure. When Astrid hears that he is now dying, and about to publish a tell-all memoir, she heads for Scotland, determined, at all costs, to stop him.

Windmill Hill is the story of two very different women with painful pasts and their unlikely friendship - deep, enduring and loyal to the last.
