Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa L.) is originated from Mexico (Trueblood, 1973) and relative of the century plant (Agave), belongs to family Agavaceae and suborder Amarylliaceae.It is widely grown in the plains of India, flaunting its fragrance both outdoor and indoor. It is known in vernaculars as Nishigandha or Rajanigandh or Gul-e-shabu.
