The Starting Five

This book revolves around the story of Brandy Alexander, a transgender girl who committed suicide after being humiliated by a group of girls known as The Starting Five during a Basketball championship game.

Charlene Morrison (Charlie), Point guard for the Salem wildcats, Orchestrated the entire event, convincing 3 of the remaining 4 girls, Sundance (Suni), Willow (Billie), and Athea (Teddy), to expose Brandy and let everyone know who she really was. (Francesca)

Frankie, the 4th girl wanted nothing to do with their antics from the beginning, and she relinquished her relationship with her teammates after that dreadful day. After receiving an invitation to Charlie's wedding 10 years later, Frankie will be reunited with her teammates, and they will join forces to relive their involvement in a former student's death when things start to unfold after Charlie's reception, and they are haunted by their past.
