Cervical lymphadenopathy is a common clinical entity. Clinical examination alone or biochemical parameters alone are not always conclusive and often the imaging modalities are called in to opine for. Ultrasound because of its wide scale availability, non invasive nature and portability offers unlimited potential in this context as against any other imaging modality. Ultrasound can satisfactorily demonstrate the involved lymph nodes, the extent of disease, the evolution of the disease process and the response to treatment as well. A scientific study of the role of ultrasound in evaluating cervical lymph nodes is therefore pertinent and the need of the hour, and the basic motive behind this original manuscript. This book focuses on various Grey Scale, Colour Doppler, Power Doppler and Pulse Doppler features of enlarged lymph nodes that enable an imaging based diagnosis, which was then compared with the fine needle cytology reports of each case to arrive at a Radiology-Pathology based conclusion. This book rests on our belief that Rad-Path together is the best way out for diagnosing any disease.
