The Orange Tree Plot

A Regency romp in the style of Georgette Heyer combining adventure and romance...EUGENIE de Talcy, brought up amid the splendours of Versailles, is forced to flee revolutionary Paris for her life. Aged nineteen, she finds herself, orphaned and destitute, on England's shore, alone but for her faithful maid Marie. It is almost the last straw when, on the long walk to London, an arrogant gentleman in a sporting-carriage heartlessly splashes the weary women as he passes. In London her fortunes improve when an old family friend, Lady Mary Berrington, takes her in.
