This book contains 89 letters he wrote to two artist friends living in Seattle during these eight years . The letters were preserved by George Tsutakawa, who later became a professor of Fine Arts at the University of Washington and Dr. William S. Gamble, who later became a professor of Fine Arts as well as Art Education at Michigan State University.
