The Last Man

Successful in both his personal and
professional life, Rochas Sulpice faces an
unexpected crisis at a key point in his life.
At first, the event appears to have the
typical consequences. But as time passes,
Rochas realizes that the event has propelled
him into a fire, a destructive yet noble fire
of redemption that begins isolating him
from the world.

In the period of a few short, intense weeks, his traditional perception
of life disintegrates. Although he feels as if he is losing his mind,
the simple fact is that Rochas is evolving, changing into a new
person, summoning within himself the courage to face both himself
and the falsehoods of the life he always led.

Then, in the span of a few months our hero becomes a champion
of an internal revolution that lies in the soul of all men. He seeks
help from past acquaintances and fails, yet finds an unexpected
and sympathetic friend in Monsignor Battista Lasaled. With the
clergyman's help, Rochas begins the arduous process of redefining
himself, a process that may not be necessarily linked to faith. What
he learns may quite possibly set him on the path to his, and our,
most challenging discovery yet.
