Modernity as a social theory and Modernism as a style of arts and architecture penetrated into the non-Western countries; agitated the traditions of building and transformed the principles of design. At present, however, values and attitudes seem to converge to form a uniform set of values under the impact of globalization. Both of these traumas, Modernization and Globalization had tremendous effects on architecture, in general, and on house morphology, in particular in the non-Western world. In this particular study scholars decided to expose architectural transformations in the non-Western countries via the case of kitchens due to the fact that most of the criticism towards social housing was related to kitchens, pantries and cellars. Therefore, the study through diachronic analysis demonstrates the changes related to kitchens; clarifies the impact of both modernization and globalization through synchronic analysis; and then designs an empirical research which depicts the measurements before and after 1930s until today. It does this comparatively. Data from Turkey and Europe is contrasted and the similar and dissimilar progress is displayed.
