When it comes to the observances of Christian memorial days, such as Christmas, Easter Pentecost and the Epiphany, many saints have become confused. They have come to look upon these memorial days as having pagan origin. But nothing is further from the truth. Unbeknown to many is that the Church from her infancy observed these grand feasts.

For an example the Easter observance was first referred to as Pascha, which means Passover. Even to this day the Greek Church still refers to Easter as The Pascha. Rightly so in that our Lord indeed is the true Passover Lamb that was offered to make atonement for our sins. However there are many in these days that look upon the Easter observance being of pagan origin. But nothing is further from the truth.

But what is even worse, is this critical spirit that has poisoned and divided the brethren. This is most dreadful as it has quenched the light of the glorious gospel and fragmented the church. This spirit has not only divided the brethren but it has also divided families. Separated families and fragmented churches are not of God. Although the gospel does divide, but it must not be because of a critical spirit but rather because of identifying with the Lord Jesus Christ Who separates the clean from the unclean.

The purpose of this work is to check this critical spirit by shedding light upon early church's observances of these glorious acts of God. These grand memorial days were always observed by the church, even from her infancy. However the Grinch has stolen more than Christmas; he has quenched the light, poisoned the saints and robbed them of their joy. It is the desire of the writer that the joy of the Lord be restored, which is the strength of the saints.
