The Fix

Braden rose, refilled the coffee cups.
"Why won't she come home, Clay?"
Clay Ashe smiled bitterly. He rested his cup on one knee. "She hates me, Stanley. She thinks I've ruined her life, and maybe she's right. She's trying to destroy herself, I believe, and I want you to find her and bring her home before that happens." He hesitated and looked around the trailer again. "I take it you'd like to get out of here."
Braden just looked at him.
"Very well," Ashe said. "You find my girl and bring her back, and you can just about name your price. I'll put you back in business."
Braden gulped coffee. "All right, Clay. I'll deal. For that I'll find your kid if she's in west hell!"
