Along with extensive water resources, Bangladesh is also very rich in diversity of fish species. There are 265 species of fresh water fin fish and 475 marine water fish species reported from the country, together with 68 shrimps and prawn, 26 marine and fresh water turtles and tortoise, 24 amphibians and more than 300 mollusks. Fish are among the world's most important natural resources, but because of technical improvements and trade development, fisheries have now reached an unprecedented level of exploitation. Fishery dependent data collection is one of the most valuable tools available to fishery managers. The ESBN fishery covers a vast coastal area. The Feni River estuary has moderate species diversity. Species diversity is higher in the estuarine mouth compared to that of its upstream direction. We are grateful to almighty Allah for successfully and carefully finish this work. Thanks to the local community of Muhuri Project, Feni. We are also grateful to all of my friends (especially John, Habib) for their valuable discussion and co-operation at all steps. Special thanks go to Lambert Academic Publishing for selecting this work to publish as a book. The Authors
