This book is based on a study that examines how organizational contexts and personal backgrounds of educators connect to inform teacher practice in the area of adult learning. Using English language teaching (ELT) as a model for educational practice, this study examines a sampling of diverse adult educator practitioners and explores their capacity to incorporate ideals of transformative learning and teacher authenticity into teacher practice while remaining mindful of organizational requirements. In particular, this study reveals information about educators' lives and the impact personal and professional histories have on the ability to interpret and navigate organizational contexts.
