A group of students from New York City's temporary housing chose to embark on a journey of critical reflection about what matters most in their daily lives. Against the backdrop of the 2020-2021 school year, students used their voice to write narratives that highlight important themes such as family ties, overcoming discrimination, and new beginnings. As the title suggests, their stories are grown from Brooklyn, a locale that has shaped their lived experiences.
