'Story of Tracy Beaker'

"The Story of Tracy Beaker" is Jacqueline Wilson's award-winning tale of Tracy's life in a children's home and her dreams of being adopted. This literacy resource pack is designed to help teachers make the most of children's enthusiasm to read about Tracy and her friends by providing a range of ideas and photocopiable worksheets for use in the classroom. The pack has been written with the literacy hour in mind - there are word-level, sentence-level and text-level activities for each chapter, for use after a shared reading of each section - but also offers ideas for use beyond that one hour per day. Extended writing activities and topic-based work suggestions will help children to develop a sense of the book as a whole, and also help teachers to link literacy work with other areas of the curriculum.
