It explains what records survive from ancient and Gaelic Ireland, from the Medieval and Early Modern period, as well as the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, generally referring to publicly available pdfs. It is lavishly illustrated with pages from these books, and short descriptions of the records contained therein.
