SPSS for Windows

This work is designed to help students learn how to analyze and interpret research data. It demonstrates how to produce a variety of statistics that are usually included in basic statistics courses. Its main goals are to help the reader choose the appropriate statistics, interpret the outputs and develop skills in writing the meaning of the results. To achieve these goals, the authors have combined material on how the appropriate choice of a statistic is based on the design of the research; how to use SPSS to answer a number of research questions mainly about one realistic data set; and how to interpret SPSS outputs. This will help the reader develop skills that cover the whole range of the design, data collection, data entry, analysis and interpretation process. This work includes the following features: the key SPSS Windows needed in order to perform the statistical analyses; the complete outputs for the analyses; call-out boxes on the outputs that point out what to focus on; an interpretation section for each output; five appendices that provide examples of how to write research problems and questions, develop a questionnaire, make a code book, make tables and figures, and write the method, results and discussion of a research paper; and several other appendices that provide information and examples of other useful features of SPSS: how to import and export files, how to use some other SPSS comands, how to create 3-D figures with SPSS, and how to use SPSS log or syntax commands.
