As one of the millions of babies born in the Baby Boomer era, Iain grew up in a changing world, experiencing strong competition for places at grammar school and, later, for jobs. Nevertheless, he seized the opportunities that were open to him and fought for what he believed was right, standing up to bullying bosses.

After unexpected events unfolded, he followed in his grandfathers' footsteps, setting up and developing a successful business.

Iain's Scottish heritage has always been important to him, and he has fond memories of visiting his aunts in Scotland. His Auntie Jean provided the inspiration for writing this book, which includes stories she told.
