Soil productivity parameters in alternative cropping systems

Intensive cropping system poses the problems of soil and water pollution, reduction of biodiversity, and other environmental issues. Organic and sustainable cropping systems are an alternative, which helps to prevent the negative consequences caused by intensive cropping system. The relevant issue that modern agricultural science has to resolve is how to maintain sustainability of major soil parameters and increase the productivity of crop rotation plants with the use of various fertilizers and catch crops in the soil differing in humus status during the shift from intensive to alternative cropping systems.
