Socioeconomic view of deforestation and forest degradation in Nepal

Concern on deforestation and forest
degradation has been raising exponentially for centuries,
and a huge researches, initiatives and measures have been
executing to lessen its environmental effect. Yet, little
attention has given to the socioeconomic facet of
deforestation and forest degradation. Therefore, this book,
comprehend a new paradigm commence on socioeconomic
perspective of deforestation and forest degradation in
Nepal. Integration of GIS, RS and socioeconomic aspects are
the key features in this book. The book focuses a
multi-agents analysis of Terai region, both in local and
regional scales and tries to analyze complicated relation
between socioeconomic and biophysical forest parameters.
The perspective presented in this book is imperative in
order to provide guidance to policy-makers, serving them as
a tool for policy intervention and implementation. This
book will be of interest to students, researchers and GOs
/INGOs working in the sector of rural development and
natural resource management, including the readers who have
