Damian Hall, fifty, is a record-breaking ultrarunner who represented Great Britain aged forty and still competes in some of the world’s toughest races, including the legendary Barkley Marathons in his fifties. His attempt to break into the top ten at the 105-mile Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc was made into an award-winning film, Underdog. Also in his forties, Damian set records on the Pennine Way, Paddy Buckley Round, the South West Coast Path, the Cape Wrath Trail and Wainwright’s Coast to Coast. Aged forty-nine, he broke the record for the 185-mile Northern Traverse and won the Lakeland 100. He is a UK Athletics running coach, Level 2 Gym Instructor, Mountain Leader and a widely published journalist with a column in Runner’s World. His previous books include the bestselling In It for the Long Run and award-nominated We Can’t Run Away From This. The father of two is a co-founder of The Green Runners, and Into Ultra, a charity removing barriers to ultrarunning. He is a big fan of tea and midlife-crisis haircuts.
