Coauthor of the award-winning Therapeutic Metaphors for Children and the Child Within, Joyce C. Mills, Ph.D., is also and internationally known storyteller, consultant, workshop leader, and speaker for medical, psychological, educational, community, and media organizations. Dr. Mills is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, and she is a professor of child psychotherapy and play therapy. Her innovative approaches to healing, which integrate a variety of psychological and cultural components, have brought her to the forefront of the mind-body spirit community. A contributing columnist to Shape Magazine, Dr. Mills is also a leading figure in the area of women's health issues. She is on the Board of Directors of the Turtle Island Project in Phoenix, Arizona, for which she coleads, with Native American spiritual and educational leaders, healing retreats for women.
