The first title in the series Studies on Contemporary Taiwan, this book provides an in-depth look at relations between Taiwan and China since 1979 and considers the possibilities for peaceful reunification of the two Chinas. The author draws on Western scholarship, using integration theory as the framework for analysis, while providing a Taiwanese perspective through use of primary sources.
