Pragmatics of poetic discourse

A poet exploits the processes of human speech acts. His work attracts the attention of others in the literary marketplace. He suggests that his thought is relevant and that poetry is essentially suggestive. He relies on the reader to provide an interpretation or to anticipate a new construction by holding true the poetics based on clues. Semiotics can be applied to this field, which encompasses all the means used by humans to communicate with each other.
