Poor Boy - The Dreamer

It wasn't easy to write Poor Boy - The Dreamer, which is my memoir. In the stillness of the night as I pounded the keys of my computer, there were moments when my eyes were flooded with tears of joy, and the thoughts coming from the recesses of my memory wandered and disappeared like a mist. To get back to the momentum of what I was doing, I gazed at the darkness outside my lonely room, alternating it with the brightness of my table lamp. I scratched my head in frustration, propping it with my hands. Then it came on the reverse. Instead of reflecting to my past it leaped forward to the unknown future. Like a gladiator, I fought with the strength and courage left in me and my memories returned. There were those who doubted that I could do what I was attempting to do. But I am a different kind of a fighter. It is my nature that once I promise to do something and I've started it, I'll finish it completely, come what may. I abandoned some of my friends whose doubts and disbeliefs burdened me, but which also challenged and inspired me to go on until I could see the light emerging from the darkness.
