Politics and Diplomacy in Egypt

From the British occupation of Egypt in 1882 until the Suez War of 1956, Britain and Egypt sought a sound framework for their relationship. The most significant milestone in this search was the Anglo-Eygptian Treaty of 1936 - of crucial importance for Egypt's internal development, Britain's imperial strategy, and the future of the Middle East.
