Vygotsky (1978) asserted that the path between a child's thinking and their academic achievement is influenced by the important people in their lives, in particular their parents. This book presents case stories that show how parents play a crucial role in influencing their children's academic achievement because of the way parents communicate their sociocultural values and practices.
