This book adds value to the transboundary water cooperation that leads to the sustainable water resources development, peaceful management and efficient use of freshwater resources. Sustainability of transboundary water resources regularly requires a multidisciplinary approach and optimum water resilience based governance systems that integrates research, policy and collaborative practices due to the fact that demand for fresh water supply in the entire Blue Nile River Basin is constantly increasing due to economic development and population growth. The study suggests that optimizing the benefits of water cooperation on the Blue Nile River or 'Abbay' as it is known in Ethiopia' would enhance mutually beneficial collaboration among the riparian countries. In fact, the management of Transboundary River is complex by the fact that they cross political and administrative boundaries indiscriminately. We trust that the concepts reflected in this work will be adopted by many people over the coming generation and implemented in a variety of ways and in diverse socio-economic contexts.
