Nowt Like It Outside O' Yorkshire

This book is a personal journey through two hundred and fifty years of the author's family history, set against a backdrop of some of the momentous societal changes that have taken place during this time. It is also an autobiography, in which the author (b. 1949) describes the various phases of his life - a Yorkshire childhood during the austerity of post-war Britain in the 1950s, moving on to the 'liberated' 1960s, and then the worlds of university, work, and finally retirement. There is nostalgia for a vanished world, along with plenty of interesting characters and anecdotes, which will appeal to all readers.
