Dr. Karen Horney is universally recognized as a major figure in the field of psychoanalysis. As an analyst and research clinician, she made original and significant modifications of Freudian theory. As a teacher and a widely read author, she helped shape the course of twentieth-century psychoanalytic thought and investigation.
