This book is based on an empirical study on "Nepalese Migrant Workers in Amritsar, India". The author, while living in India for his graduate study, spent about a year to conduct the study. The book has depicted the significant link between armed conflict, migration and vulnerability of young Nepalese migrant workers. Various data show that after the beginning of insurgency in February 1996 and its culmination in 2001 due to security deterioration, many Nepalese citizens especially youth started migrating to India and other countries with the purpose of living better life. Have they got a better environment to live? The book has attempted to provide the answer to this key research question. Therefore, the readers of this book can elicit information on the situation of Nepalese migrant workers vis-à-vis their living and working conditions in India.
