National Certification in Plastics Study Guide

Employers in the various plastics fields find themselves challenged by the shortage of trained workers, employee retention problems, worker safety issues, and related concerns. These issues all have one common thread - they are all elements of workforce development. The National Certification in Plastics (NCP) program was born out of the industry's need to address these important issues. This Study Guide expands upon the topics outlined in the widely distributed NCP Body of Knowledge, the industry standard for machine operators, and provides a framework for additional training and study in preparation for the NCP Certified Operator Examination. It covers all four of the major plastics processes: injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, and thermoforming. Process-specific topics are clearly marked throughout the book for easy reference. The Study Guide is written in clear language, with unfamiliar terms and words defined (along with a simple pronunciation guide) as they are first used in the text.
