My Boy, Will

My Boy, Will is the story of one child's triumph over immunodeficiency and autoimmune encephalopathy with the love and support of his service dog. It details how such a successful service dog team was created.

William J. Gibney is a 17-year-old high school senior who wrote and illustrated this book to raise awareness of PANDAS, PANS, and AE, and to show gratitude for the incredible impact of Canine Companions. 

Laura A. Assaf, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist who specializes in the differential diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders, including PANDAS/PANS/AE, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, complex learning disabilities, and related mood and anxiety disorders. She is also Will's mom.
